Welcome to Katthjälpen in Malmö!

Katthjälpen is a non-profit organization that works to improve the lives of homeless cats. Since the organization was founded in 2002, we have helped cats in and around Malmö find new homes. Katthjälpen receives no government funding, but all financial resources are drawn from membership income, donations and sponsors and are used to run Malmö's largest cat shelter.
We help cats
At Katthjälpen there are cats with different backgrounds. Some are feral domestic cats who have lived their whole lives outside in homelessness and need to be socialized. Others are already domestic house cats who, for example, have been thrown out when they were no longer wanted or have been separated from their family in other ways. Where space is available, we help with relocations, where the owner may be older and no longer able to take care of the cat or where someone in the family has developed an allergy.
No Kill-shelter
Katthjälpen is a No Kill shelter, which means that we have zero tolerance for the euthanasia of healthy cats. Sick cats should be given the opportunity to recover and only in cases of incurable illness and severe suffering should euthanasia be considered, in consultation with a veterinarian.
In connection with caring for the cats, there are a number of veterinary visits and therefore also extensive veterinary expenses. Therefore, we are grateful for all the help we can get. Join us and make a difference for homeless cats in Malmö – no contribution is too small!
