The cat shelter is run by volunteers who feed the cats daily, clean the litter boxes, provide the care the cats need, clean and of course spend time with the cats. The volunteers are also tasked with capturing homeless cats. Once the cats have arrived at the cat shelter, they undergo a health check and are then neutered, vaccinated and ID-marked before they can eventually find their forever home!
We only accept booked visits to the cat shelter. Contact us to book a visit.
The cat shelter is located in the central parts of Malmö with good bus connections. Every day there are volunteers at the cat shelter who take care of and spend time with the cats. The work is very rewarding and it is wonderful to see how the cats develop from being homeless and afraid of people to, in many cases, becoming cuddly and social. For some cats it goes quickly and for others it takes a little longer – we let the cats take the time they need.
The daily chores at the cattery are feeding the cats, emptying their litter boxes, cleaning and, best of all, spending time with them, cuddling and playing with them. Through the continuous contact with people, the cats gradually become socialized.
